Foreign Language: Tagalog

I wish I can fluently speak tagalog and ilocano. I can speak lighweight tagalog, but has room for improvement. I can fully understand it though because my parents, aunties, and uncles spoke to me in Tagalog at times. Honestly growing up, speaking in tagalog wasn’t encourage nor I was not surrounded in an environment where tagalog was spoken. Fell into peer pressure of not speaking tagalog.

In high school, I took four years of Tagalog for my foreign language. Looking back, I took the class for granted. I didn’t realized how privilege we were to take Tagalog as a foreign language class.

Did you know there are not many high schools in CA and in the United States that offers Tagalog as a foreign language class. Although, I am Filipino, it doesn’t mean it guaranteed to me to an easy A. Even though I somehow knew how to speak tagalog, the class was challenging learning the language, writing in Tagalog, the past, present, and future tenses.

A start for me to improve my tagalog skills is to speak Tagalog and Ilocano to my parents. Don’t be surprised if I bust out in Tagalog talking to Aunties and Uncles! haha

The kid is full Caucasian but when he was born, his parents weren’t fit to take care of him so he got put up for adoption. They weren’t fit to take care of him because they were intensive drug users. The adoptive father adopted him while he was in America. Brian says, “I love it here (the Philippines) more than I love America.”

Holy shit.

Well done

Throw Down - BTSBS Series

Aww yeah. Probably one of my favorite btsbs episodes ever. Not just cause I’m talking in it. Only because of the people in the video with me

why are you so awesome!

Small world

I remember last year, I visited my friend, Denyce in the city of daly. She took me to this tapioca express like lounge place which was much cooler and a hang out spot for young adults. The cashier was hella cute, I remember her cause she was helllla cute haha, I told my friend “omg, she’s hellla cute. do you know her?” You get the point. haha

So Let’s fastforward to 2012. I end up meeting her! When I met her, she looked hella familiar. What’s interesting was that she recognized me from somewhere but don’t know where. She’s from Daly City and she worked at the tapioca express like lounge place that I went to last year. She states that I look familiar and remembers me. She remembers my distinct smile. What’s odd was that was my first and only time I went there.

Anyways in conclusion, the world is too small. It’s crazy how people’s paths cross in certain times. The universe have something plan for all of us. Source code. O_o hahhah jk jk but The people you become close with, you never imagine to have a stronger connection with. Cherish the moments you spend together, because one day you are best friends and then next you become strangers. That’s life. All you had was the amazing memories you shared together. Priceless.

Even though we don’t keep in touch as much, you still mean much to me.

even though the things you do irks me, I still care about you.

We are all driven by our individual and collective experiences that shape who we are. And who we are in turn shapes the experiences that we have. It’s a constant cycle, and it explains why different people approach situations differently. I am who I am because of the people who broke me down in…
